Alexej Gorlatch
Ukraine
Alexej Gorlatch started studying piano with E.G.Georgiew in Passau. At the age of 12 he became a young student at the University of Arts in Berlin with Prof. M.Hughes. Since 2003 Alexej has been studying at the University of Music and Drama in Hannover with Prof. K.-H.Kämmerling.
 
Alexej Gorlatch has been successful in several competitions, including the first prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition 2006 in Japan, the Audience Favourite Prize of the Beethoven International Piano Competition in Bonn 2007, and second prize at the Seoul International Competition 2008. Most recently he won the highly reputed German Musikpreis 2008 as the first pianist in recent 15 years.
He participated in the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdroj and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and appeared in many concerts including solo recitals in Carnegie Hall (New York), Salle Cortot (Paris), Kioi Hall (Tokyo) and played with several orchestras like the State National Orchestra of the Ukraine and leading orchestras of Japan including the NHK, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra.
