Six prizes of 1,000 each will be awarded to the remaining semi-finalists.

Eight prizes of 500 each will be awarded to the remaining competitors who reach the second round.

The RTÉ NSO Prize of a performance with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra will be awarded for the best concerto performance by a finalist, other than the 1st Prize winner.

The Bridget Doolan Mozart Prize of 1,500 will be awarded for the best performance of a piece by Mozart played in any round of the Competition. This is presented by the Bridget Doolan Piano Fund.

The AXA Prize of 1,200 and a recital in the National Concert Hall, Dublin will be awarded for the best semi-final recital given by a finalist other than the first prize winner.

A Prize of 600 will be awarded for the best performance of a sonata or nocturne by John Field played in any round of the Competition. This prize is presented by Ian Fox.

The Charles J. Brennan Prize of 1,500 presented by The Brennan Family, the RTÉ Prize of a concerto performance, and the National Concert Hall Prize of a dbut recital will be awarded to the best placed Irish participant.

The six main prizes will be based on performances in all rounds.
